There are some differences between classes, workshops and tours.
In my photo and computer classes, participants bring their cameras or computers to one or more scheduled classes. They learn through lectures, class discussion and camera handling or computer exercises. The photo classes generally include a field trip, to provide an opportunity to practice what has been taught in class. The computer classes do not include a field trip.
In workshops, I provide a balance between classroom instruction (similar to my classes) and apply these lessons in the field. I include in-the-field demonstrations and am always available to provide instruction, answer questions and assist participants with their photography.
While leading tours, I guide my participants and photograph along with them. We normally do not have time and workspace for classroom instruction and computer work, other than downloading images from our cameras during breaks from our photography. However, I am always available to answer participants’ questions about photography and computers during our tour.

Photo & Computer Classes
I conduct photo and computer classes for beginner through advanced levels, with detailed handouts included. Class size is limited and takes place one evening per week for four weeks. Occasionally I condense regular classes into weekend sessions for the convenience of out-of-town photographers.
Photo classes include discussion on lighting, exposure and other technical aspects of photography. I also teach specialty classes that cover other areas such as close-ups, wild animals, night photography, botanical subjects, land and seascapes and creative techniques. All photo classes include a field trip with one-on-one assistance.
Computer classes mainly include digital photography workflow, from capture to finished product, and the use of software such as PhotoShop and Lightroom. A field trip is not included with computer classes.

Private Instruction
I provide private photo and computer instruction for beginner, intermediate and advanced photographers. Prior to instruction, I engage in lengthy discussion with the photographer to identify his or her goals and create a unique course based on individual needs. I then work with the photographer to achieve those goals.
Photo Workshops
I have conducted large and small photo workshops across the United States for the National Parks system, Kodak, North American Nature Photography Association and other organizations. I conduct independent workshops in South Texas and other locations. Workshop locations include public land as well as exclusive, private ranches and properties.
In my workshops, I provide a balance between classroom instruction (similar to my classes) and the application of these lessons in the field. I include in-the-field demonstrations and am always available to provide instruction, answer questions and assist participants with their photography.
Photo Tours
I am based in South Texas but my photo tours take us to many unique places. In South Texas, locations can include public lands but most often are on private properties professionally set up for nature and wildlife photography. The photo tours I lead and co-lead are limited to small groups and take into consideration each participant's interests.
On tour we don't usually have time or space available for classroom work. However, I am prepared to provide you with guidance and advice for obtaining the best photographs available as we photograph together in our various tour locations.
Public Speaking
I am available for public speaking engagements, with audiences ranging from a handful to a packed auditorium. I tailor my public speaking to the clients' needs.
Assignment Work
I work for various companies, organizations and individuals on photographic assignment, performing tasks unique to the clients' needs.

Whether you are a photographer needing help processing photos or creating a portfolio, or a company or organization requiring computer work involving images and/or words, I can help.
Ranch Consultation Work
I advise ranch managers and owners on the preparation of their ranches for professional nature and wildlife photography.
Print and Image Sales
I have created thousands of images since 1989, which are available as hand-signed, archival quality prints. If you don't see something you want, contact me for a photograph that matches your needs. You may order online and I accept payment via PayPal, cash, major credit cards, personal checks or money orders. Prints cannot be shipped until the payment has cleared.
Custom orders are available. Contact me about large quantities or sizes, personalized gifts, holiday gifts, gift certificates and other specialized orders.
